Long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away lives an illustrious family of larger-than-life characters who had undergone great and heroic adventures to save the universe from the dark side. If you have not followed the original trilogy (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, The Return of the Jedi) and the prequel trilogy (The Phantom Menace, The Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith).
Now that a new trilogy is expected to continue this epic science-fiction saga, the latest episode The Force Awakens has transitioned the story from the old characters to new ones. We will move past Han Solo, Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader to fresh faces like Kylo Ren, Finn and Poe Dameron. Interestingly, Ben Solo a.k.a Kylo Ren is not on the extended universe family tree. It is also intriguing to think if Rey could be Luke Skywalker's 'lost' daughter. We will have to wait for Episodes VIII and IX for the big reveal.
